The power of sharing is in highlighting your expertise. WHO you share and WHAT you share reflects on your brand. Selecting the right associations elevates your brand and makes your feed more interesting. It is also a great way to draw the attention of the brand you are sharing, and show your support of what they are doing.
Many of us have heard the term “it’s gone viral”. Posts go viral because they are shared over and over by people who find them engaging. Choose who you’d like to be associated with, follow their feeds and then share selectively, remembering that if your followers wanted to see every post, they’d follow the feed themselves. You are their curator!
If you are looking to draw attention to your key suppliers, partners, sponsors or customers, it’s important to work out in advance how each will be featured in your post. This is important for your reader so they don’t misinterpret the relationship between you but also for the businesses who are being highlighted. Inconsistency raises questions such as “Why did they get…?” And “Why didn’t I get…?”. Working this out in advance makes sure it’s a positive experience all round and maximises the effort.
